Our Doctors

Dr. Aaron Weinstein has been in practice since 1991 and believes very strongly in providing an individual vision solution to every patient.   “Each patient we care for deserves the same level of attention and care.”  This philosophy has been cultivated for much of his life having followed in the footsteps of his father.  Dr. Weinstein has worked in every facet of practice including the Optical, the Lab and therefore understands how a patient experience can be affected in a practice. 

 

Dr. Weinstein is a 1991 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and completed his undergraduate education from Washington and Jefferson College with a degree in Psychology in 1987.  He grew up in the Baltimore area and now lives near Annapolis .  “Dr. Aaron” is an avid cyclist and enjoys completing a “century ride” every now and then.  He and Dr. Melinda are kept busy with their 2 growing kids and adorable Goldendoodle as well as volunteering in the community.

 

Dr. Melinda Weinstein has been practicing for nearly 18 years, spending her entire career with Weinstein Eye Associates.  Over her career she has worked in a variety of different practice modes.  This has allowed her to develop special skills to work effectively with senior populations, children and those with special needs.  Her warm, inviting and sensitive manner make people comfortable from the start. 

Dr. Weinstein graduated from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1990.  (That’s where Dr. Melinda and Dr. Aaron met!) and from the University of Maryland in 1986 with a degree in Psychology.  Like Dr. Aaron, she is from Baltimore as well.  Outside of the practice, Dr. Melinda enjoys exercising including running and fast walking (she’s very fast), gardening and of course raising their children. 

Jeanette Lam, OD joined Weinstein Eye in January 2006 and has quickly become an important part of our practice.  Dr. Lam's warm personality allows her to bring a very attentive, friendly approach to care.   She understands both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese.  She is a Silver Spring native and attended the University of Maryland , Baltimore County graduating with a degree in Microbiology and Biochemistry.  She then continued her optometric education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry graduating in 2002.    She recently returned from a trip to China and is excited to visit India later in 2007.  Outside of the office, she has a many interests, including hiking, biking, finding the great new restaurant or spending time with family and friends.

 

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Hetal Rena to Weinstein Eye Associates. Dr. Rena is a graduate of Rutgers University and the New England College of Optometry. Following graduation, she completed an Optometric residency in the Boston area and practiced in Chicago before relocating to Maryland along with husband and son.
